Instagram users can view all the reels they have liked in the past by accessing their liked reels collection. This allows users to easily find and re-watch reels they enjoyed without having to scroll through their main feed or search for specific accounts.
Viewing Your Liked Reels Feed
Instagram has a dedicated “Liked” section where you can access all your previously liked content. To view your liked reels feed:
- Open the Instagram app on your mobile device
- Go to your profile by tapping the person icon in the bottom right
- Tap the three horizontal lines icon in the top right corner to open the menu
- Select “Liked” from the menu options
This will open your liked reels feed which contains all the reels you have liked in the past. The reels will be displayed in reverse chronological order with the most recently liked reels at the top.
Liking Reels
When viewing a reel, you can like it by tapping the heart icon below the video. This will add that reel to your liked collection so you can find it again later. Here are the steps to like a reel:
- When viewing a reel, tap and hold on the screen to bring up the options
- Tap the heart icon at the bottom to like the reel
- The heart icon will be filled in with red to indicate you’ve liked the reel
You can unlike a reel at any time by tapping the heart icon again on that reel. This will remove it from your liked collection.
Finding Specific Liked Reels
If you’re looking for a particular reel you liked in the past, there are a couple ways to find it:
Search Liked Reels
Use the search bar at the top of your liked reels feed to search for keywords, captions, sounds, or the Instagram handle of the account that posted the reel.
Scroll Through Your Feed
Browse your liked reels feed by scrolling down to find the reel you’re looking for. The reels are organized chronologically so you may have to scroll down quite far if you liked it a while ago.
Check Your Like History
Your like history contains all the posts, reels, and other content you have liked recently. To access it:
- Go to your profile and tap the three line menu
- Select “Settings”
- Tap “Account”
- Tap “Posts You’ve Liked”
This will show your like history organized by day so you can scroll back to when you think you liked that reel.
Saving Reels
If you want to save a reel permanently so it’s easy to find again, you can save it to a collection:
- Tap and hold while viewing the reel to bring up options
- Tap the bookmark icon to save it
- Select an existing collection or create a new one to save the reel to
To view your saved reels collections:
- Go to your profile
- Tap the three line menu
- Select “Saved”
- Choose the collection with the saved reel
Sharing Liked Reels
You can also share your liked reels with friends and followers by sending the direct reel link or downloading and reposting.
Sending the Reel Link
- Tap and hold while viewing the liked reel
- Tap “Share”
- Choose the sharing method you want to use
- Paste the link to share directly to that platform
Downloading and Reposting
You can also download the reel and repost it to your own account:
- Tap and hold while viewing the reel
- Tap the three dot menu in the bottom right
- Select “Save Video”
- The reel will save to your camera roll
- You can then upload and post it to your own account
Just keep in mind that reposting others’ content without credit can violate Instagram’s policies.
Finding Liked Reels from Specific Accounts
Rather than scrolling through your entire liked reels feed, you can find reels you’ve liked from certain Instagram accounts you follow.
- Go to the profile of the account
- Tap the three dot menu in the top right
- Select “Posts You’ve Liked”
This will show you only the posts and reels you’ve liked from that specific account. You can then scroll through to find the one you’re looking for.
Clearing Your Liked Reels
If your liked reels collection is getting too cluttered, you can unlike reels in bulk to clear it out:
- Go to your liked reels feed
- Tap the three dot menu in the top right
- Select “Unlike All”
This will unlike every reel in your collection. You can then start fresh by only liking the reels you really want to save.
Alternatively, you can unlike reels individually by tapping the heart icon on each one.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you’re having issues accessing your liked reels, here are some troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram app
- Force quit and restart the Instagram app
- Check your internet connection
- Log out of Instagram and log back in
- Clear the Instagram app cache and data
- Uninstall and reinstall the Instagram app
- Try accessing Instagram from a different device
