1. Open the Chrome browser on your computer.

2. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner to open the menu.

3. Select “Bookmarks” and then “Bookmark manager”.

4. In the Bookmark Manager window, click on the “Organize” button near the top right and select “Add folder”.

5. Name the folder “Facebook”.

6. With the “Facebook” folder selected, click on “Add page” near the top left.

7. Type “Facebook” in the name field and paste the URL https://www.facebook.com/ in the URL field.

8. Click “Save” to add the bookmark.

You should now see a “Facebook” bookmark in a “Facebook” folder in your Bookmarks Manager. This bookmark will take you directly to the Facebook website when clicked.

Use the Facebook Shortcut

To use the Facebook shortcut:

1. Open a new Chrome tab.

2. Click on the Bookmarks button on the toolbar near the top right (it looks like a star).

3. Click on the “Facebook” folder.

4. Click on the “Facebook” bookmark.

The Facebook website will open quickly in the tab.

You can also access the shortcut by pressing Ctrl + Shift + B in Chrome to open the Bookmarks bar. The Facebook bookmark will appear in the bar for quick access.

Customize the Shortcut

You can customize the Facebook shortcut to better suit your needs:

  • Change the name – Rename the bookmark if you want something more specific like “Facebook News Feed”.
  • Add Facebook pages – Bookmark individual Facebook pages like your profile, groups or business pages.
  • New tab page shortcut – Add the Facebook bookmark to your Chrome new tab page for the fastest access.
  • Keyboard shortcut – Set up a custom keyboard shortcut to open your Facebook bookmark instantly.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having any trouble getting the Facebook shortcut working, here are some tips:

  • Make sure you are bookmarking https://www.facebook.com/ specifically.
  • Try deleting and re-adding the bookmark if it’s not working properly.
  • Check that you don’t already have a Facebook bookmark added. You can only have one.
  • Make sure you click the star icon to open bookmarks, not the folder icon.
  • The shortcut will only work in the Chrome browser, not other browsers.
  • Restart Chrome if the bookmarks/shortcuts are acting buggy.

Alternative Options

If you prefer not to use a bookmark shortcut, there are a couple other good options to quickly access Facebook in Chrome:

  • Add Facebook as a search engine – Type “fb” or “facebook” in the address bar to search Facebook specifically.
  • Pin a Facebook tab – Pin a Facebook tab so it’s permanently open in Chrome.
  • Use a Chrome extension – Add an extension like FB Shortcut to add Facebook shortcuts.
  • Enable Chrome sync – Sync open Facebook tabs across all your signed in Chrome browsers.

Overall, adding a standard Facebook bookmark to your Bookmarks Manager is the easiest way to create a convenient Facebook shortcut in Chrome. Just follow the steps above and you’ll have quick access to Facebook in no time!
